Candy Bar Homemade Ice Cream









12 Regular size candy bars (whichever you prefer)

1 can Eagle Brand Milk

-1 pint half and half

1/2 pint whipping cream

5 1/2 oz. chocolate syrup
1 tbsp. vanilla
milk

Cut up candy bars and melt in microwave slowly with Eagle Brand Milk. Be careful not to burn. (Melt completely for smoother ice cream). Cool mixture. Then blend in half and half, whipping cream, chocolate syrup, and vanilla. Place in ice cream container, fill the rest of the container up with milk (to your fill line). Follow directions of your homemade ice cream machine.

Fried Green Tomatoes





3 medium, firm green tomatoes
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 Tbsp seasoned salt 
1 egg
1/3 cup cornmeal
1 cup all-purpose flour
Oil for frying -(olive oil or canola preferred)
1/2 cup buttermilk
Salt - Pepper

Cut  tomatoes into 1/2 inch slices. (do not peel) Sprinkle slices with salt. Let tomato slices stand for 5 minutes. Meanwhile, place in separate shallow bowls: the flour and seasoned salt, buttermilk and egg, and cornmeal.

Heat the oil in a skillet on medium heat. Beat the egg and the buttermilk together. Dip tomato slices in the flour-seasoning mix, then buttermilk-egg mixture, then the cornmeal. In the skillet, fry half the slices at a time, for 3-5 minutes on each side or until brown. Set the cooked tomatoes on paper towels to drain. Sprinkle lightly with salt and pepper.
